Did We Mention We’re Broke?

Because it’s hard out here for a tiny performing arts collective with non-profit aspirations.

Here’s the thing: BRTW is unique not only because we provide a one-of-a-kind platform for Black artists, but because we’re cocreating solutions to societal issues with artists, administrators, thought leaders, and audiences. We’ve learned so much over the years, and we’re so grateful to everyone who’s supported our work. And we still need your help. BRTW yearns for a home and an opportunity to provide sustainable, living wages and a voice in administration to the very artists often left wanting at the back of the line. We want to model new methods of collaborative leadership in an industry who’s modus operandi often involves leadership at odds with its constituency. Most of all, we want to produce work that reflects the lived experiences, insights, and realities of Black folk. So, if you can, please donate today. And if you can do just one more thing, please share our fundraiser with your community. And no matter what you do, thank you for your support.
